Christiane zu Salm Euvia Media CEO Christiane zu Salm is Chief Executive Officer and shareholder of Euvia Media, which operates 9Live, Germany's leading quiz channel and the travel channel sonnenklar TV. She is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of both 9Live Fernsehen GmbH and Euvia Travel GmbH, the purchasing and operating company of sonnenklar TV. After having joined the broadcaster tm3 in 2001, Christiane zu Salm turned the unprofitable TV station into the interactive quiz channel 9Live. Within few months of the introduction of the new concept, the company generated the first operating profits in the channel's history. With Euvia Media, Christiane zu Salm is consistently breaking new ground in the television market. The company is innovator and market maker for interactive television in Germany. In 2004, Euvia Media was named the fastest growing media company in Germany by media magazine Horizont. The business model of 9Live is considered to be one of the few economically successful innovations in the German TV market of the last years. As media entrepreneur and pioneer of interactive TV, Christiane zu Salm has recently published a book on the future of television, assembling renowned scientific experts, media managers and politicians to discuss about the interactive TV landscape of tomorrow. From 1998 to 2001, Christiane zu Salm was Managing Director Central Europe of MTV Networks GmbH, in charge of MTV's operations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2001, her achievements in the development of the music channel earned her the "Echo" music award as media manager of the year. According to the Financial Times, she is one of the 25 "Leaders of the New Europe". The World Economic Forum named her Global Leader for Tomorrow 2002. She holds a Guest Professorship for Media Management at the University of the Arts in Berlin and is Co-Initiator of the European College of Arts in Berlin. She is one of the founding members of Germany's Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship where she now serves on the Board of Directors.
